Rebecca joins Groom Aviation with a concentration in writing and communications. As a private pilot and marketing graduate, she combines unique insight and creative thinking to assist aviation clients in communicating and engaging their target audience(s) via multiple channels. In addition to communications, her background involves a wide range of marketing functions including market research, social media, strategy, branding, and advertising. Rebecca also serves as a contributing writer for Twin & Turbine.

Though raised around general aviation, Rebecca first considered it as a career while learning to fly in a Piper J-3 Cub in 2010. The experience (and private pilot certificate) led her to change course and pursue a marketing degree upon returning to Oklahoma State University that Fall.
Following graduation, Rebecca relocated to Vero Beach, Florida where she began her professional career with the sales and marketing team at Piper Aircraft. In addition to extensive market research, she extended support to the Sr. Marketing Manager for global tradeshows and special event planning – eventually working major aircraft tradeshows such as Sun ‘n Fun and EAA AirVenture.
It would also be during her time at Piper that Rebecca would uncover her passion and talent for writing. She was tasked with original, creative copy for Piper’s website, direct mails, and advertisements.
But in 2014, the Midwest drew Rebecca back after her (now) husband was appointed a pilot position at Beechcraft in Wichita, Kansas. Her next professional role would take place at aviation-founded advertising agency, Sullivan Higdon & Sink (SHS).
At SHS, Rebecca utilized her industry insights and research abilities to provide advertising and marketing direction to the aviation, aerospace and defense team. Working with major engine manufacturers and aircraft OEMs, most notably Textron Aviation, Rebecca greatly furthered her product marketing knowledge and communications portfolio. In addition to providing strategy and branding input, she headed the team’s press relations and social media jobs.
During her three-year tenure with the company, Rebecca completed projects with the following brands: Cessna, Beechcraft, Piper Aircraft, Doc’s Friends, Pratt & Whitney, Engine Alliance, Spirit Aerosystems & Brunswick Commercial & Government Products.
